Hansal Mehta is an ace director. He has made acclaimed movies like SHAHID, CITYLIGHTS, ALIGARH and few more. Now he is gearing up for Kangana Ranaut starrer SIMRAN that is releasing tomorrow.
Although Kangana has been promoting the movie along with Hansal in full swing, a lot of focus has been on Kangana’s personal life right after her interview on national television than on the film.
During media interactions with director Hansal when asked him if the focus is more on Kangana’s past rather than film promotions this is what he had to say, “It’s all about what you all ask, the film has been promoted well and the buzz is right. I have got good reviews on the trailer and songs so far. If you guys ask her about it then she answers it. I don’t feel that the focus has been diverted.”
Ask him how was it shooting with Kangana when she was through turmoil in her personal life and Hansal asserted, “She was very professional and she didn’t get her personal life on the sets. She is one of the most hard working actors I have come across.”
Talking about the film SIMRAN Hansal avers, “SIMRAN is the story of Praful Patel, a Gujarati girl in the suburbs of Georgia who has aspirations and wants more freedom than she already has. In the process, she gets embroiled in debts and then crime but the film is, essentially, a story of hope. SIMRAN, the character and the film is about pursuit of happiness. I believe people will relate to it because all of us are in search of happiness. As a director, I wanted to challenge myself and explore new horizons.”
