According to reports distributors in Rajasthan have refused to release the film in cinema halls. A report in TOI online says that the distributors are not willing to take any risk until the Shri Rajput Karni Sena and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali reach an amicable solution.

A leading distributor in Rajasthan Raj Bansal has been quoted in the report saying that they will buy the rights only after a understanding between Shri Rajput Karni Sena and Bhansali is reached.

The film is scheduled to be released on December 1, in cinema halls across the country, has now taken a political turn with protesters spreading their wings, after disrupting the shoot, the 3D trailer launch saw protestors distributing pamphlets outside the venue and now the reaction from Rajasthan distributors wing owing to fear of loss of property is indicating trouble for the period drama.
