Tomorrow as the entire nation will be celebrating Teacher’s Day, everyone will try their best to get in touch with their high-school or college teachers.
We all will be reminiscing our good-old school days and all those teachers or professors who have knowingly or unknowingly made a very huge contribution in our personality, career choices or thought process that we possess today.
While it’s true that everyone has that one teacher, who they are extremely thankful of supporting and guiding at a stage where our minds were very impressionable and striving to grapple with the world we were about to be exposed to. On the other hand its equally true that we all have also came in contact with all sort of teachers like the one who always want to have his/her way no matter what, the sensitive-selfless giver, the one who’s known more for their fashion statements rather than teaching skills or the one who looked upon their students as liabilities.
So keeping in mind several teachers that every one of us must have come across, we bring you six types of teachers that Bollywood perfectly portrayed in its films, have a look
•The Perfect Kind:
When we say perfect teacher then without a doubt Aamir Khan's character from TAARE ZAMEEN PAR or Amitabh Bachchan's from BLACK or AARAKSHAN comes to everyone's mind. Now we are calling these characters perfect because they are the epitome of how a perfect teacher should be. I bet you all must be having one such teacher in your life as well.
•The Authoritarian/ Heartless Kind:
Well which person hasn't met one of these kinds of teachers in their life? Some people still get nightmares recalling the horrific time they have faced in their student life thanks to such teachers.
Boman Irani's character of Dr. Viru Sahastrabuddhe a.k.a Virus from THREE IDIOT perfectly fits into this category. Virus' strict philosophies and ways leaves Joy (Ali Fazal) with no option than committing suicide and majority of the students hated him from the bottom of their hearts. We also have our legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan's character of the strict headmaster Narayan Shankar from MOHABBATEIN featuring in this category. I mean come on how can someone forbid people from falling in love?
• The Ultimate Fashionista Kind:
Admit it or not we all had that one teacher/professor in our school/college who were more popular for their charming looks and fashion statements rather than for their teaching skills. Teachers like Sushmita Sen as Ms. Chandini in MAIN HOON NA certainly made going to college and attending lectures bit more exciting. Whereas teachers like Ms. Briganza played by Archana Puran Singh in KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI made their male colleagues go weak in their knees thanks to their flirtatious personality
• The Idol Kind:
Very rarely we get to see teachers like Santosh Duggal (Rishi Kapoor in DO DOONI CHAR) or Vidya and Jyoti (Shabana and Juhi in CHALK AND DUSTER) on screen. Teachers like these defines the actual definition of how exactly a teacher should be. Santosh Duggal was not a great teacher or something but the values and integrity that he followed is what make him a hero. Likewise Shabana and Juhi's character from the mentioned film made them heroic because of the values that they stood for. Even Divya Dutta's loving character of Mrs. Rosy from STANLEY KA DABBA is what helps us in reinstating our faiths in teachers.
• The Puppet/Funny Kind:
Well like we said we have all sorts' teachers in this world then how can we forget Mr. Malhotra played by Anupam Kher in KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI? Mr. Malhotra is the kind of a teacher whom neither the students fear nor respect. But a teacher like him is fun to be with. Well we know that there might be few more types of teacher shown in our films which doesn't feature here in this list and if you have more interesting categories to add to this list or if we have missed including some really interesting examples then you can write your suggestions in the comment section below.
