Both the prominent new releases of the week, Farhan Akhtar's LUCKNOW CENTRAL and Kangana Ranaut's SIMRAN, failed to make much of an impact at the box-office, opening at a poor 10-15 percent start, on an average. Additionally, there was not much of a pick up during the latter shows (except for SIMRAN at a few metro multiplexes), as apart from the acting prowess of Farhan and Kangana, there is not much to say about the two aforementioned films or their box-office prospect(s).
As far as the first day goes, as per rough early estimates, SIMRAN has netted nearly 2.75 crore while LUCKNOW CENTRAL hovered around the 2 crore mark.
The third release of the week, Sanjay Chhel's Rishi-Paresh starrer, PATEL KI PUNJABI SHAADI, went by-and-large unattended!
Meanwhile, the battle between the two main releases of last week, Arjun Rampal's DADDY and the Deols' POSTER BOYS, turned out to be heavily in favour of the latter!
While POSTER BOYS netted 11-12 crore, DADDY was much lower at around 7-8 crore, during the opening week. What it means is that both DADDY as well as POSTER BOYS are all set to encounter rough weather at the box-office.
