The prominent new release of the week, Excel Entertainment’s Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chaddha and Ali Fazal starrer, FUKREY RETURNS, opened on an impressive note (25-30 percent), during the dreaded morning shows, which is much higher than some of the similar releases of recent times.
High on entertainment quotient, punchy dialogues and identifiable characters and situations, not to forget the recall value of brand FUKREY, the film picked up further during the latter shows. As per initial estimates, FUKREY RETURNS has netted nearly 8 crore on the opening day, which is almost double that of the predecessor, FUKREY.
Given that there is no prominent release till Salman-Katrina’s TIGER ZINDA HAI (22nd December), and the positive word-of-mouth amongst the campus crowd, the film is all set to succeed, very much as we had predicted earlier this week.
Checking out Kapil Sharma’s FIRANGI, the film could not achieve much as it netted around 12 crore (to be validated) during the opening week from India.
Meanwhile Vidya Balan’s TUMHARI SULU saw another rock steady week (5crore) thus netting 33 crore in three weeks from India and will end up as a good success (above average) by the end of its run.
