Treading quite on the expected path, the new releases of the week, Sanjay Mishra’s KADVI HAWA, Devashish Makhija directed AJJI and Deepak Shivdasani’s JULIE 2, failed to make inroads into the audience’s purse(s), putting up a poor show.
The below 10 percent occupancy (for the newbies) continues to cast a pall of gloom at the box-office!
For the stat conscious, JULIE 2 was the best of the lot, though the collections were nothing to write home about!
Meanwhile, last week’s two major releases, TUMHARI SULU and AKSAR 2, saw contrasting fortunes. While the Vidya Balan starrer managed an ok first week netting 19-20 crore, the Zareen Khan venture tottered with a 6-7 crore haul. From the two, it is just TUMHARI SULU, with an all-inclusive cost of 17 crore, which has a realistic chance of getting into the profit zone.
And before we leave, the English film JUSTISE LEAGUE turned out to be the winner of the week, netting in excess of 25 crore from India!
