This Friday’s two prominent releases, Kapil Sharma’s FIRANGI and the Arbaaz Khan and Sunny Leone starrer TERA INTEZAAR, failed to impress the box-office.
Having said that, FIRANGI was head and shoulders above the remaining releases (including TERA INTEZAAR), opening to a 15-20 percent response, with a pick up during the latter shows (In Delhi-NCR and East Punjab).
Though FIRANGI will be unable to emulate the success of the comedy star’s previous hit, KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON, still with some luck it may just surprise.
Unfortunately one cannot say the same about the remaining releases of this week!
Meanwhile, last week’s Raai Laxmi starrer, JULIE 2, faced outright rejection, netting barely 3 crore (to be validated) during the opening week from India.
Concluding with Vidya Balan’s TUMHARI SULU, the film saw a rock steady second week (9 crore), thus netting 28 crore in two weeks from India, and will end up as an above average fare, in the end count, thanks to the very reasonable all inclusive cost (17 crore) and the non-theatrical rights.
