This week will see two similar genre (suspense) thrillers Arbaaz-Ashmit’s NIRDOSH and Kay Kay Menon’s VODKA DAIRIES along with Samir Soni's MY BIRTHDAY SONG. Needless to add that the three films will see limited patronage as the audience will hold on to its purse strings for next week’s PAD MAN and PADMAAVAT, while almost a month old, TIGER ZINDA HAI will continue to be the favourite.

The new releases of the week, Cinestaan Film Company’s KAALAKAANDI, Anurag Kashyap directed MUKKABAAZ and Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 could not make a significant mark at the box office. Comparatively speaking, after the initial (release) hiccups the Zareen Khan starrer 1921 surprised with a 6.50 crore weekend followed by MUKKABAAZ with 4.25 crore while the Saif Ali Khan’s venture KAALAKAANDI faced outright rejection netting just 3 crore, all during the opening weekend.
