Ayushmann Khurrana is riding high on success. He has had a dream year with two back-to-back hits BAREILLY KI BARFI and SHUBH MANGAL SAAVDHAN. He will be seen next in Sriram Raghavan’s yet-to-be titled film.
Now the actor is set to start the last schedule of his next, tentatively called SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER, in Pune. The edge-of-the-seat entertainer will showcase Ayushmann playing the role of a blind pianist.
Filmmaker Sriram is known for thrillers like BADLAPUR, EK HASINA THI and JOHNNY GADDAAR. And, now he has lined up another gritty, realistic and quirky film with Ayushmann.
A source close to the project says, “It is going to be an intense shoot. The film is a completely different take on thrillers and Sriram’s script is amusing and edge-of-the-seat at the same time. It is going to be a rollercoaster ride for the character that Ayushmann is playing.”
Speaking about shooting in Pune, Ayushmann says, “I will be in Pune from November 14 for about 16 days and I’m looking forward to the shoot and getting to know the city through the eyes of Sriram Raghavan. He is a genius in making the landscape integral to the film and the plot and enhances the effect it has on the story and characters.”
Earlier in the year, Matchbox Pictures uploaded on social media stills from the movie, showing Ayushmann playing the piano. “Fun Begins in Pune… Sriram Raghavan, Matchbox Pictures, Viacom 18, Ajit Andhare, Sarita Patil, Sanjay Routray,” read the caption of the picture. Two years ago, it was announced that Sriram would direct the adaptation of Vikas Swarup’s THE ACCIDENTAL APPRENTICE for Matchbox Pictures. It is, however, not certain that SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER is the same film.
Well, whatever it be we are extremely excited for this new development and eagerly awaiting for yet another taut thriller from Sriram with Ayushmann in lead role.
