A music school in honour of India’s queen of playback singing Lata Mageshkar has been announced.

Yesterday at the function “Amrut Hriday-Swar Lata” held in Mumbai to celebrate Lata Mangeshkar’s 75 years of work in the field of music, and 80th birthday of Lata didi’s brother Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar the state government made this decision.

The function which also honoured writer, lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar saw a musical evening narrated by veteran actor, anchor and RJ Annu Kapoor that paid tribute to the incomparable contribution of Lata Mangeshkar to the world of music.

Education Minister Vinod Tawde made the announcement at the function which was graced by the CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis.
